• Name of Church : National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom, Vallarpadam
• Location  Vallarpadam, Ernakulam , Kerala State, India
• Miraculous picture of Virgin Mary holding Infant Jesus which is installed in Church's altar was brought here by Portuguese missionaries in 1524 under the leadership of Vasco Da Gama.
• First church was named "Church of the Holy Spirit"
• Church was re-established in 1676
• In May 1752, there occurred a great miracle in which a Nair Lady named Meenakshiyamma and her child was divinely saved from drowning, which made Vallarpadam a famous Pilgrim Centre
• Government of India declared it as a major pilgrim centre in 1951
• Pope St. John Paul II elevated status of church to  Minor Basilica in the 2004
• Feast day: September 16 to 24
