Bible verses as the proof of Trinity

Even-though you will not find any word like Trinity in Holy Bible, but you can find verses which supports the existence of 3 persons ( The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit ) in One and only living God. Here are Top 6 Bible references which could help you in conceiving the idea of Trinity.

Ephesians 3:16-17

"I pray that, according to the riches of His glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love."

The above verses St Paul mentions about glory of Father the God, power of His Spirit ( Holy Spirit) and dwelling of His son Jesus Christ

John 14:26

"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you."

The above verses Jesus Christ speaks to his disciples above the comforter ( Holy Spirit ) whom the Father will send in the name of Jesus.

Mathew 28:19
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,.."

The above verses Jesus Christ commanded his disciples to baptize all nations in the name of Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 1:2
"who have been chosen and destined by God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with his blood.."

The above verses states that those who are for Jesus are destined by Heavenly Father and sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 9:14
"how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!"

The above verses St Paul speaks about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through Holy Spirit which was accepted by Heavenly father for forgiveness of sins of humanity.


Matthew 3:16-17
"And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased".

The ministry of Jesus begins with his Baptisam by St John the baptist at Jordan river. When Jesus arouse from water, Holy Spirt in the form of dove filled in him and voice of Heavenly Father was heard. Here the Father himself testified Jesus as His son.

1 John 5:7-8
"here are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three agree.."
In some translations it is given as:
"There are three that testify in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. And there are three that testify on earth"

The above verses, espicially vserses John 5: 6 to 12 says about testimony concerning the Son of God and it also mentioned about the union of Father, son and holy spirit.

2 Corinthians 13:14
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you."

In this verses St Paul blesses the belivers of corinth in the name of Father, Jesus (Son) and Holy spirit.

Acts 2:33 “Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He [Jesus] has poured forth this which you both see and hear.”

Acts 10:38 “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”


Romans 1:4 “Who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord . . .”

Romans 8:9 “However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”

1 Corinthians 6:11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

Galatians 4:6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
