JESUS YOUTH JUBILEE MESSAGE | |
| |
Dear Family, Yet another weekend that left us spell bound comes to an end, the various thoughts that visited us & discussion within the family just helps us to come more closer to God. One such feelings has been duly expressed in the topic of this mail & we go from here in expressing it further... Early in my childhood, I was always mesmerized if someone came visiting our home & more so if anyone would extend his stay further for a 'fellowship meal'. But, in early days you know only close family friends would stay around & that too with a good occasion backing up. My Dad is a hardcore 'giver', he just loves treating people both known or unknown, with or without occasion, the 'giver' in him more gets going if the people are less privileged. I still remember the days when I used to hide behind the curtain to see my dad, treating our family taxi driver with a lavish dinner, or going all the way out on cycle & getting hot snacks & preparing hot tea/coffee for the daily laborers who used to work at our construction site. He still treats the mason who build our house as his own brother, the 'n' number of beggars in church & their lit up eyes when they see my dad is still fresh in my mind. (After my marriage it's ironic to 'learn' from my wife that my late 'father in law' shared just the same passion in terms of 'giving' & sharing, maybe infact even more) His giving was not only for less privileged but any guest, or family friend who came home, it was his passion to treat people. It was in early 2000, that Jesus Youth entered our family & life & they with their key word 'family' would barge into our home like our own brothers & sisters. My dad as if he has new sons & daughters would invite them with open hearts & open arms, with no restriction at all. Their presence in our home every week over this meeting or that planning or that program or any 'reason' under heaven would lit up our entire home with an extra boost of energy & love. This feeling have been accompanying me wherever I have gone. For simple reason, people with open arms & open hearts is in-valuably a default quality of every Jesus Youth of any region... I take two such families example that has motivated & challenged me to the core.... People who know me closely would have guessed by now the one family that I am gonna speak. Its none other than "Adolf chetaa & fly" the past two years animator's of Jesus youth Hyderabad... this is one family that we all look upto as JY couple's - their house is the hub for most of all the meetings. One thing they have in common for all of us is 'open arms & open hearts', never do they say no, ever welcoming & accommodating people in their hearts. For years they have shared & given more than anyone could have thought, their house keep buzzing around with jy's... by sharing their place, resources & time they have not only supported & fulfilled the love & care we missed but even set up a benchmark for all the couples. The next couple that has amazed & challenged us here in Singapore is "Dr. Julio" & family. Out of many its one house in Singapore that keeps swamping with people, they make it a point to take extra care of everyone & never to leave anyone hungry of love or food. At any point of time in a week their house is filled with Jesus youth's. Their house is like a 'pit stop' for us to come, refuel our spiritual need, our need of love, our appetite need, etc.. with ever welcoming smile a family of 5, they have taken a conscious decision to love, share & give till it hurts! With both of them as our past & present elders, their is so much to learn, experience & gain from them. The art of catholic living, is well narrated by their life. Now one may even argue, this is possible by them maybe because they earn well, have no health problems & have a good house, to which I totally disagree. As for me, resource's, health & finance are all secondary, what matters is a pure & giving HEART, that's all that matter. If we have one alike, we would definitely serve & give un-conditionally. Not to mention any more names but their are many more families in here which have 'open arms & open hearts' ever welcoming people in their home. Its the same love of Christ that drives Adolf Chetaa & family, Julio Chetaa & family that drives many other Jy families around the globe.... Numerous & countless families in Kerala, Bangalore, north India, whole of India, etc.. have opened their house & heart for people. Internationally too we hear similar inspiring stories from US, Europe, middle east, etc... where they have special rooms in home for JY meetings. Families giving shelter to migrants, teens, campus, bachelors & spinsters without any restriction. Sharing all that they have 'unconditionally' All said & done, I urge more JY families around the globe, to open up more & more. Opening up our houses is like opening up our Hearts & Lives. Calling them, sharing a fellowship meal at home with fellow JY's of ministry/team, spending time with them, supporting them, is just one way of saying that we love & care. Let more Jy families come forward & open their homes where one can spend the whole day experiencing Christ love, where people can see & learn of what actually giving & sharing is all about. Its an 'unsaid' request that this new generation of campus, teens, JY's yells at us who are ever on a lookout of such families... Hence, by now the topic of this mail maybe beginning to make some sense now. Many time's we eat much & still feels dissatisfied, but Its 'open' families like these who are ready to 'go hungry & yet feel satisfied' for the sake of others because for them: Feeding others is more important than to eat themselves Loving others is more important than being loved Giving is more powerful than receiving It would be a privilege & honor to meet such great & loving families across globe this Jubilee! You inspire us big time - Thanks! Happy Jubilee! Love, Shibbs PRAISE GOD BLESSED BE THE ONE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD |
