Waiting . . .

Ever feel like your life is on hold? I have. It seems like you’re stuck in the present as you continually muse about the future: Once I get that job everything will be better . . . Once I get married I’ll truly be happy . . . Once I get through this financial crisis I’ll really give to God . . . Once I grow more mature spiritually I’ll really begin living for Jesus—and telling others about Him . . .

The reality? We have this day to use for God. To worship Him. To glorify Him. To offer our bodies as living sacrifices. To take up our cross and follow Him.

It’s good to wait for God as you seek His wisdom and direction in a particular decision. But that never gives us permission to keep our lives stuck in “park.” So today, “Press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us” (Philippians 3:14).

A few Qs: What has caused you to recently play the “waiting game”? What will you do to “get it in gear”?

Daily Prayers
THE SALVE REGINA ( Hail Holy Queen )
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

“[Divisions in the Church] Now I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose.” -1 Corinthians 1:10
