Sign of Cross

The sign of the cross is a powerful prayer in itself and it is the oldest practice in Church. The sign of the cross has 6 meanings:

• Primarily it is a confession of faith - you are professing your belief in the Father, and in the Son and in the Holy Spirit.;
• it is renewal of the sacrament of baptism;
• it is a mark of discipleship - it's a declaration that I belong to Christ;
• it is an acceptance of suffering - partake in Christ's sufferings;
• it is a defense against the devil - You declares I belong to Christ; He is my protection.;
• it is a victory over self-indulgence - to gain control over ones emotions and desires.
