Joseph the Professional

Joseph in the old testament is a modal for all professionals.

Joseph and his brothers will be sent to graze their cattle and other jobs in their farm - their profession. Joseph was hated by his brothers because he witnessed the very wicked deeds of them and they knew that it had been reported to their father. Its a fact that if you are in the right path, you will have rivalries in your professional field. He was sold to Egyptian master. Quick and trustworthy, Joseph soon became his master's personal attendant. He was next entrusted with the superintendence of his master's house, a most extensive and responsible charge, such as was unusual in large Egyptian households. With God's blessing, all things, "both at home and in the field", became so prosperous under Joseph's management that his master trusted him implicitly - a matter of professional excellency. While thus discharging with perfect success his manifold duties, Joseph was often brought in contact with the lady of the house. Oftentimes she noticed the youthful and handsome Hebrew overseer, and carried away by passion, she repeatedly tempted him to commit adultery with her, but he refused. She tried to persuade him forcefully, by catching him. He ran leaving her overcoat on which she was catching. Now she accused Joseph that he tried to persuade her. Joseph was sent to prison. Two years he had to be there. Jospeh trusted in God and God intervened. Joseph was able to explain the dream of the Pharaoh. He was released from prison and was raised to the rank of keeper of the royal seal, invested him with an authority second only to that of the throne, bestowed on him the Egyptian name of Zaphenath-paneah ("God spoke, and he came into life").

Trust in God. Follow him. Do your duty, day by day. Do it bravely come what may. God will do wonders for you. Even though you may have to be in prison for two years!
He will do wonders which you can not even Imagine Even.
