What are Capital Sins according to Teachings of Holy Catholic Church

The 7 Capital Sins
According to the teachings of Holy Catholic Church, there are seven capital sins. They are:
  • Pride
  • Greed
  • Lust
  • Anger
  • Gluttony
  • Envy (Jealous)
  • Sloth (Laziness)
1. Pride
Pride is the excessive love of one's own excellence. It is considered as one of the blackest of sins. Rather than submitting to God, a person with false pride exalts him with out recognizing the mercy and blessing of God.

2. Greed
Greed or avarice is a temptation for every person, not just the wealthy. It is the temptation to gather wealth than one needs. It is the intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food. Desires for wealth leads to greed, Satisfaction never being reached. Greed is bad, and it is not only bad, it's deadly. It's deadly because it kills. It kills charity.

3. Lust
Strong sexual desire - Hankering for impure pleasures - The more lust dominates the heart, the less the heart experiences the nuptial meaning of the body.
Jesus warned us "everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart".

4. Anger
Anger is a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility towards someone. It can be inordinate desire for revenge. Anger is deeply self-centered, impatient with the weaknesses of others and often driven by an aggrieved sense of entitlement rising up in response to real or imagined injury. It causes the breakdown of marriages, families, and friendships.

5. Gluttony
Gluttony is habitual greed or excess in eating or disordered appetite or the excessive indulgence in food and drink.

6. Envy
Envy or Jealousy is a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck. It is  sin to envy on others good fortune or spiritual growth.

7. Sloth
laziness or Sloth is the reluctance to work or make an effort. The darkest side of sloth, however, is its distaste for worship and prayer. It is the Laxity in keeping the Faith and the practice of virtue, due to the effort involved.

Daily Prayers
Our Father in Heaven
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

“[A Third Time Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection] While Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and said to them on the way, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death; then they will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified; and on the third day he will be raised.”” -Matthew 20: 17-19
