2011 - A Year of Change
Dear Friend in Christ,
I am really excited about what the Lord has in store for all of us in the upcoming new year. It will be a year where mourning will be turned into singing and dancing, darkness into light. It will be a year of turnaround, a year of change.
I want you to put your thinking cap on so you can best understand what I’m about to say. Ready? Okay, here it is: “One thing that will never change is that there will always be change.” Change happens to everybody! That you can depend on. Just take a picture of yourself once every ten years and then compare them. The changes stick out like a sore thumb.

Yes, change is a certainty. For the born-again believer that is exciting news. If things are going good for you then rejoice because things will change and can get better. After all, we go from glory to glory. On the other hand, if you’re in the midst of a trial you can believe for a turnaround to bring a positive change into your life.
Believing for change causes us to rise up in the midst of a stormy trial and boldly proclaim, “This too shall pass.” Nothing stays the same for very long. The sun rises in the east and before you know it it’s setting in the west. Change happens! No matter what’s going on in your life, whether good or bad, things can always get better.
We need to get up each morning believing that today will be better than yesterday. Don’t get discouraged believing your situation will never change. Don’t let the enemy convince you that things will remain as they are from this day forward. No, one thing that will never change is that there will always be change.

Seasons come and go and with each one comes change. It’s cold in the winter and hot in the summer. In the fall trees shed their leaves and in the spring they grow new ones. Yes, change is everywhere. It’s a fact of life whether we like it or not. The good news is that in the kingdom of God change is a good thing. Therefore, we need to crave change. We need to seek it more than our daily bread.
To help us, God has a “Special Agent in Charge” to bring change into your life and His Name is Jesus. When He walked the earth everywhere He went He brought change. Everybody who came in contact with Him had a positive change happen in their lives. Look what happened to Matthew the tax collector, the mad man of Gadera, Mary Magdalene, the cripple at the Pool of Bethesda, the thief at the right hand of Jesus on the cross.
The list is endless. I mean, look what He’s done for you and me! God says in His Word, “Behold, I do a new thing.” That’s change in a positive light. With Jesus there is always hope for change. He is the “change maker.” No, He never changes but He brings change wherever He goes. He is forever seeking to do a new thing in your life.
One thing that will never change is that in Jesus there will always be change. That is exciting news. That gives me a reason to get up in the morning. That gives me hope to believe that I will live a good life. That gives me the confidence that “all things work out for the good for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Yes, Jesus is in the “change” business.
If you want your life to get better then go to Jesus. All the promises of God are “yes” and “amen” and that spells change. I mean, why stay the same? New things become old very fast. Change, however, is the spice of life! Change will motivate you to keep going forward down the highway of life knowing that good and glorious things are waiting for you at every turn in the road. Change will bring blessings to your life today and will promise you a glorious future.
A life without change is a dull, boring life. It’s like a dark, cloudy day where everything is gray and downcast. Change, on the other hand, is a multi-colored rainbow that will brighten each and every day of your life. The blessings of change is like that pot of gold that for sure is at the end of your rainbow. The message here is to “look to the rainbow.” Don’t run away from change, run to it. Trust me, you won’t regret it! Now go, get ready for all the wonderful blessings that are sure to come your way.
Your covenant friends,
Randall and Anne Brewer
