Witnessing the risen Lord on Easter Sunday

Witness refers to bearing testimony to the world, proclaiming and making known Jesus. Jesus himself commissioned the disciples to be his witnesses (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit came upon the faithful and made them witnesses of Christ. This idea of common witness was the main objective of ecumenical Easter celebration on 24th April, at KAPC Diphu organized by United Christian Forum an organization of 27 Churches in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The programme was held at 3 pm with thousands of participants from various churches.

Welcoming the participants Rev.R.T the pastor of KAPC wished all the joy of Easter. Easter hymns in different ethnic languages from KAPC, Evangelical Baptist Convention, AG Church, Romkimi Presbyterian Church, Peace Team and a powerful message by Rev.Allan Chan from Singapore added real joy of Easter.

Rev. Athang the chairman of UCF also the chairman of the function exhorted the congregation that resurrection is a fact of history and that it demands a response of faith.

The prayer for offering was pronounced by Rev.G.Khima from Dimapur.The offering was for the track ministry of UCF. The life of Jesus and the inspiring stories are being printed and translated, this is a new ministry launched.

There was also a mass prayer for peace in the district and the final benediction was pronounced by Rev.Zaithanga from PCI.

Tom Mangattuthazhe while giving the vote of thanks thanked God almighty for giving us Jesus and at the same time giving the mission and power of Jesus to Christians. Let us be known as Christians who live the life and message of Jesus.
